Amy Smart has been a actor, model and former American. The modeling career she began with was in Italy which is where she was raised before being was born in California. The beginning of her acting career came in 1996 when she starred in the TV film Her Costly Affair. It was a long road for her to star in Starship Troopers in a smaller character. It was very difficult when she had to change from modelling to acting as models were not considered to be good actors, and they were usually assigned smaller roles that were insignificant. Amy did her best to get noticed and was eventually offered larger parts beginning in The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. Amy then stepped into leading roles with the 2005s romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy was finally recognized for the role she'd been looking for since the age of 10. Amy was later a star in major film projects such as the Crank Series with Jason Statham, and Shameless.
